- Decide to develop a continuity Plan
- Identify Risks that are possible
- Identify the impacts to your business
- Develop a continuity strategy for your business
- Identify emergency procedures for your employees
- Develop and implement your business continuity
plan
- Train your employees
- Maintain and exercise your plan
However, after the plan is completed it must be
updated as your small business grows and changes. This requires
an annual or semi-annual review of your plan and an update to accommodate
the latest changes. We can assist with regular updates of your plan.
The Institute for Business & Home Security in
conjunction with the Public Entity Institute (PERI) puts out a good little
package for small to mid-sized businesses called "Open for Business".
The cover of the Small Business Continuity Plan instruction booklet
is shown in the sidebar to the right.
We can assist you with planning and implementing
this package for your small business.
